Samuel J. Cullers

The Sacramento Chapter was established in 1990 by founding President and past International Vice President, Samuel J. Cullers.

The Chapter started with 10 original members and has grown to 148 total members, 143 active members and 5 retired members. 

The Chapter has nearly all of its functions at the prestigious Sutter Club, adjacent to California’s State Capitol in downtown Sacramento.  Membership luncheons are held each month with speakers that prompt constructive dialogue among members on local and regional issues.  During the months of July, August and December, the membership suspends its regular meetings.

The Chapter’s territorial jurisdiction for active members covers nine counties:  Sacramento, Nevada, San Joaquin, Placer, Yolo, Yuba, El Dorado, Amador and Sutter Counties.  The majority of the Chapter’s members are located primarily in the cities of Sacramento and Roseville and the County of Sacramento.

Over the years, the Sacramento Chapter has encouraged diversity in its membership.  The Chapter’s membership includes land developers, home builders, commercial/industrial developers, land use planners, bankers, civil engineers, architects, land use attorneys, economists, commercial real estate brokers and environment consultants.  The public sector is well represented with individuals from the fields of planning, housing, redevelopment, and economic developments.  Leaders of nearly every major company associated with land economics and land development are members. New initiates need full support of all active members, encouraging organization-wide cooperation.
